Holiday update #10

Tuesday
Yesterday was a huge day. We started at 5.45am and didn't get home until 11pm! We got picked up from our hotel by a crazy driver who seemed on a mission to get us to the airport in 5mins even though it is 30 mins away. Ducking in and out so quickly, we survived, thankfully.
We got to the airport and were given our tickets for the flight to Buffalo NY. Then we waited a bit before the flight which only took about 1 hour. We were picked up by another bus and driven to Niagara Falls, NY. I didn't realise but the falls are split between USA and Canada. We went on the iconic Maid the in the Midst and got wet, thank goodness for the ponchos that were supplied. I think I got some good pics, I haven't had time to look at them. Then we went into Canada and had lunch at the Sheraton buffet. Then a few more things to do with the rivers and falls. I'm not sure if our guide was obsessed with power plants or if that is the only other thing near Niagara as we saw and heard about a lot of them. Then we went back to America for more falls stuff and finally back to the airport for some authentic Buffalo wings which were quite spicy despite asking for mild. We all slept on the flight home before being shocked back awake with the crazy driver dropping us back at our hotel. A very long day but it was great to see the falls and now we can tick that off the list of must-sees.
Wednesday.
Big excitement in Washington with the pope arriving. Tomorrow that will be NY so we are leaving at just the right time! I think we'll have any easy day today, maybe some more shopping and nothing too tiring.
Until next time...
Kerrie
