Clarence is in hospital having an operation today, so please
keep him (and us) in your thoughts…
An enlarged lump was discovered on Wed night and he had an
ultrasound and xrays on Thursday when it was found to be a mass on the spleen.
It doesn’t look like it is connected to anything else, so that at least is
positive. And the spleen can be removed, so another positive. It is rather big
though, somewhere between the size of an orange and a football – we saw the
xray and it was quite big which is worrisome.
Anyway, the vet is operating to remove it today and then we
will take him to an emergency centre where he will stay overnight for
observation – fingers crossed he recovers OK and we can bring him home on
Saturday.
There is a more than 50% chance it is cancer, and possibly a
bad one which means he may develop other cancers even if this one gets removed,
but we are hoping for the best results… The picture below is from last
night – he just wanted to cuddle…
Happy Stitching,
Kerrie
Keeping my fingers crossed for Clarence and sending you good thoughts and best wishes!
ReplyDeleteHope everything goes well with Clarence. I recently had one of my own dogs in the hospital for two nights so I know how stressful and heartwrentching it is. Sending lots of 'get well' wishes to Clarence all the way from Sweden!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dog Clarence is! Hugs and prayers for all of you! And sending some "Eskie mojo" too! :-)
