The Time is Now #2

I didn't get too much done last night as I had a late night at work, but it's progressing well. I have big plans for lots of stitching this weekend - I hope you get some done too!

Stitching ABC #41 and FINALLY...!

Last night I did the back-stitching on the O block and finished it off.

And I FINALLY got permission to hang my Heartfelt pictures that I purchased and stitched specifically for my library. Originally, I had proposed to hang them above the computers and the study desks across 3 separate areas, but I only got permission to hang them in a cluster, and I actually think that is much better! They are on the ground floor and EVERYONE will see them every time they walk into the library so they are much more on display than I had originally planned. YAY! Besides the ugly fire hydrant next to them, I think they look great and I am very pleased with them. It's only taken about a year to finally get them into place... but I think it was worth the wait!

And YAY, it's Friday. I'm going to the movies tonight with my friend to see 'Self/less'. I'm not sure what it is about but it looks like a bit of a suspense movie so it should be OK. I'd like to go and see Mission Impossible after it is released next week too.
For the weekend, I think my sister and her family are coming over for dinner and to watch the footy on Foxtel on Saturday night, and on Sunday, we have the footy ourselves - hopefully it will remain dry!

Walk This Way #20 & Sing to the Lord #16 & Be Strong #1

Yay - it's finished all but for the baby name and birthdate, but that will have to wait as I don't think he/she is due until April. Funny how with many kits you end up running out of threads - I didn't have this problem with this design - I've got so much thread left I reckon I could almost do the whole design again!

After finishing Walk This Way, I decided to go back and finish off the Sing to the Lord - one that I ran out of thread for the back-stitching. So now that is finished too...
And then I started the final Heartfelt design that I'm aware of for the set of 8... Be Strong
So it's been a fairly productive weekend... I hope yours has been a good one too!

Thanks to the Lord #7

Well, this is really should be update #11 or 12, not 7 but since I haven't posted for a week, here it is - all finished!

Here is a closeup of the stitching with beading...
I'm really pleased with the result and definitely vote this one as my favourite from the Heartfelt series. Now only 2 more to go.

I'm not sure if I'll start the next one, or pick something different... This coming weekend, we're off to New Zealand to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Just a quick trip over the weekend but we are both really looking forward to the break. I might have a little break from stitching and start something when we return next week... I'll see how long that lasts!

Give Thanks to the Lord #6

Another night of minimal progress - I've just been too tired lately to stitch for the normal amount of time. Next week I'm off to our Gold Coast campus library for the annual library stock-take (my favoiurite thing to do!!) so I'll take this with me and hopefully get close to finishing it.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Give Thanks to the Lord #5

Boy, progress certainly slows down when you don't spend all day stitching! I only did the back-stitching on one flower last night, I was quite tired.

Give Thanks to the Lord #4

Sorry about not posting yesterday, I was at a seminar in the city all day. Here is where I'm up to as of last night. I was a bit tired so I didn't get too much done. I quite like this design - the simple wording and the pretty border.

Give Thanks to the Lord #3 & Craft Weekend

WOW - the craft weekend was excellent! I've had a ball and will definitely try to make it to next year's event. I have to admit though, when I got home on Sunday afternoon, I had a 3 hour nap on the couch! Doing nothing but stitching is hard work, but so much fun!

Here is my progress from the weekend, and I'm so pleased with it. The whole design is half completed...
Pretty good work for one weekend, I reckon.

I hope your weekends were as good as mine.

Give Thanks to the Lord #2 & Craft Weekend

Here is what 11 hours of stitching in a day can do... great progress - I'm almost half way through!

These are Cathedral Window Pin Cushions that were part of a class run at the Craft Weekend. I didn't make one but these are the efforts of the other ladies - I think they look fantastic! Today's class is more paper craft - a card and sticky-note pad holder. That's if the ladies make it back from the flying fox they've organised to go on!

The creative craft challenge was to get design a Mug Rug. Here are a few completed ones...
Basically, it's a coaster, but they are so gorgeous. I like the birdie ones.

I've had such a great time this year and I'll definitely try to get along next year as well. It's another beautiful day here and we've got 4-5 hours until we have to be out so I'm back to stitching some more...

Give Thanks to the Lord #1 & Craft Weekend

The craft weekend began with a yummy dinner and lots of chatter last night. I've met lots of lovely ladies and watched them do their thing with many different crafts - knitting, sewing, quilting, drawing, painting, scrap-booking and more! There are a few of us here who do cross-stitch so it's been fun comparing notes.

I decided to start 'Give Thanks to the Lord' which is one of the Heartfelt designs. I got heaps done last night. Here is a progress shot...
Here is half the craft room that we've taken over. There are 4 or 5 big tables covered in a variety of craft stuff, machines and other bits and pieces, and about 25 or so ladies all doing their thing! I really am having a great time...you can't see out the window much in the photo, but there is a beautiful lake to look over and the sun is shining - a lovely day.
Back to stitching...
