Christmas Stockings #1

I've started my latest purchase - miniature Christmas stockings for decorating the tree later in the year. They are very quick and easy to do which is a nice change to the huge European Bistro. I'll probably do a few more before starting on something a little more complex soon.

These are from the Bucilla kit called 'More! Tiny Stockings'.

According to the instructions, I am supposed to glue the stockings to cardboard and then red felt on the back. I am tossing up maybe sewing and stuffing them to make them a little puffy... any thoughts on how I could finish them off nicely?

Happy Stitching,
Kerrie

  1. those are darling! You could sew a backing on them, and finish them like 'real' stockings...check out this page...

  3. they're so sweet, I'd finish them like proper mini stockings, maybe iron on some interfacing to make them a little more protected on the back of the stitching

  4. Lovely! I especially like the reindeer one :) As you say I would probably find some pretty Christmas fabric and make them in to little stocking shaped pillows for the tree.

  5. Hello, my Dear! These are so pretty! I've come to you from The "Grow Your Blog" party...it was over before I knew about it, but it was so nice of Vicki to leave the list up! Anyway, I always welcome new blogs to enjoy, and yours is delightful! I am now following you ~ please come and visit me if you get a chance!
    So nice to "meet" you!
    Hugs,

  7. I'd make them up as real stockings. I've used those as gift-y things before - with a tiny present ( necklace?) inside, or a heifer project gift note for my mother, or a$10 bill, etc.
