Candy Cane Santa Stocking #19 & some hanging

Only doing half cross stitches really allows you to get a lot done in a short amount of time. Most of this third window frame is half cross stitches representing the tree leaves.

And I finally remembered to bring my hammer to work today. I've hung the 4 framed sayings in my theological library and I think they look great. No one has mentioned the other designs I have hanging in the library, so I doubt these will get noticed either (which is a good thing since I hung them without specific permission). Hopefully, they provide just a little bit of inspiration to the students...

Little Things - finished

Yay, the last of the set all done.
These were a great quick stitch and I can't wait to get them framed and on display.

Little Things #5

Not too much more to go on this one. I didn't get a lot of time last night as I was home from work late and very tired due to helping run a research conference this week.

Little Things #4 & Robot ABC - Finished!

We went to Aireys Inlet on the weekend, and despite it being quite cold and wet, we did manage to get the lawns mowed and I managed to finish the Robot ABC - finally!

I am super pleased with the bright colours. There's a few mistakes, but I'm not going to point them out and because it is so busy, you'll have a hard time finding them! Now it can go in my cupboard to await framing.
When we got home on Sunday, I continued with Little Things. I've just got the word 'things' to go now and then that series will be done too.

Little Things #3

I had a meeting after work so I didn't get home until late last night, but I still managed to finish off the letters for 'enjoy' which I'm happy about.
I'm looking forward to a weekend full of lots of stitching after all the necessities are done (cleaning, washing etc, all the 'fun' stuff). Hope you all have a great weekend,

Little Things #2

The saying is 'Enjoy the Little Things', which you'll be able to make out in the next day or so.

Little Things #1

I've gone blank on what the saying is for this final one in the set, but I think it has something to do with 'little things' so that's what I'm calling it until I can check it out tonight...

The Time is Now - finished

Three down, one to go in this series - yay!
I'm loving how quick these are to get done.
My next Christmas stocking arrived yesterday but I have to get these finished first, so it looks like I'll be starting it next week. Baby's not due until February so there's plenty of time to get it done.

The Time is Now #3

So I'd planned to have lots of stitching time, but it didn't quite work out that way. I'm almost done on this design, but I did think I would be finished with it this weekend... oh well. No rush so it doesn't really matter.

The Time is Now #2

I didn't get too much done last night as I had a late night at work, but it's progressing well. I have big plans for lots of stitching this weekend - I hope you get some done too!

Life is Too Short - finished and The Time is Now #1

Thankfully, it was a quick process to stitch the left out stars...
And then I started the third design in the set: The Time is Now

Life is Too Short - (almost) finished

I love how quick these are to stitch! I thought I'd finished but now looking at the picture, I realise I haven't done the stars on the right side... oops!

Life is Too Short #2

Almost done! Very exciting.

And I've hung my other series in my theological library. They are in a quiet study area (on removable hooks since I don't actually have specific approval for them...) I'll be interested to see how long it takes for someone to notice and by then, I'm hoping they'll have been up for so long there will be no point in taking them down!

Funny side note - I didn't plan on having the bigger gap in the middle. They were supposed to be equally spaced but obviously, I made a miscalculation somewhere. But, I quite like it with the 2 groups of 2. They are framed in the same frames as the other series I have hanging in the library so I can interchange them and it will still look great. They provide some interest on the plain boring wall very nicely.

Dreaming - Finished, and Life is Short #1

Finished off dreaming and quite pleased with it. Gotta love those simple and quick designs every now and then! So then I started Life is Too Short and I'm almost half way through - after just one day! I'm surprised myself.
I collected the framed stitching on Friday and hoped to hang them today but I only have 3 hooks so I need to go to the shops to get another one. I am very pleased with how they have turned out and will get a picture to share when they are on the wall.

I hope you all get some time for stitching over the weekend - I certainly hope to do some...

Dreaming #3

I didn't think I'd get the STOP filled in last night as we were late home from dinner at my parent's place. But I did so all is good.

Dreaming #2

In real life, it's quite hard to see the back-stitching around the word 'dreaming' but here in the photo you can pick it up much better.

Dreaming #1

OK, so you didn't really expected that I wouldn't start one of the newly delivered kits, did you? Of course, I couldn't help myself and I just had to start on one of the new kits. They are all very simple and a small size so they shouldn't take too long to get through. I hope to have them framed and hung in my theological library as the sayings are all motivational and encouraging.
This is the darkest Aida I've worked on but it wasn't too bad. Occasionally I had to hold it up with the TV in the background to find the holes.

Stitching Order

So I didn't get a chance to go through my stash last night - I'm still trying to finish off the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 4th book.
But I did have time to order some more kits which I will stitch for my library wall again. Design Works: Life is Wonderful, The Journey, Don't Look Back and All That Wander. They are all inspirational sayings and will suit the theme of the library well (I work in a theological library).

I have the perfect space for them in the library, and now that I've had permission for the previous  stitchings I did to hang in the library, it shouldn't be so hard to get approval for these ones. In fact, I think I may just hang them anyway and wait to be told to take them down, if anyone actually notices... My orders says it will arrive in 7-10 days so I can't wait to get them and get started.

Happy Stitching,
Kerrie
