Stitching ABC #41 and FINALLY...!

Last night I did the back-stitching on the O block and finished it off.

And I FINALLY got permission to hang my Heartfelt pictures that I purchased and stitched specifically for my library. Originally, I had proposed to hang them above the computers and the study desks across 3 separate areas, but I only got permission to hang them in a cluster, and I actually think that is much better! They are on the ground floor and EVERYONE will see them every time they walk into the library so they are much more on display than I had originally planned. YAY! Besides the ugly fire hydrant next to them, I think they look great and I am very pleased with them. It's only taken about a year to finally get them into place... but I think it was worth the wait!

And YAY, it's Friday. I'm going to the movies tonight with my friend to see 'Self/less'. I'm not sure what it is about but it looks like a bit of a suspense movie so it should be OK. I'd like to go and see Mission Impossible after it is released next week too.
For the weekend, I think my sister and her family are coming over for dinner and to watch the footy on Foxtel on Saturday night, and on Sunday, we have the footy ourselves - hopefully it will remain dry!

Footprints #9 & Heartfelt Framed

Here they are - the 2 framed designs from the Heartfelt series. I have chosen a very simple plain black frame and I am very pleased with the results. The only thing I would have done differently is possibly enlarged the frame slightly in the 'Have Faith' one as the fancy bit under the word 'faith' is a little blocked off - but the frames are 10" x 10" which is what the kits say the designs are, so I can live with it. I pick up the other 3 in matching frames this weekend.  Now I just have to work out where and how to hang them. As I've said previously, I want to put them in the theological library where I work as they'll fit in just perfectly, now it's just about getting permission to do so!

As for Footprints, I've almost finished off the first big block.

Have Faith - Finished

Yay - it is finished. This is the third in the series, I've got two more to go but I won't be starting the next one until the end of the weekend. The red flowers really pop.
This weekend we are finally heading off back to Aireys Inlet down on the Great Ocean Road. It has been over 2 months since we were last there and I am hanging out to get back and just do nothing for a day or so. The first delay was Clarence (our Golden Retriever) with his medical emergency and surgery, then the next delay was the library move and then my own medical emergency so I just want to get away and relax. It is expected to rain most of the weekend, but I don't mind. We'll go for walks in the rain on the beach and just do nothing for the rest of the time - woo hoo! I hope to finish off the Dinosaur ABC - finally! I found another ABC in a magazine that is by the same designer and looks like it is designed to be done as a set so that will be my next holiday house project - it is an Elephant ABC. I'll post a pic once I start it.

IT at work have been dragging their feet and I still don't have a computer which is driving my nuts! Fingers crossed by next week I will so I can get back into a regular routine of posting updates...

Have a great weekend everyone!

Have Faith #4

Apologies - it's been a while since I've posted. The library move is progressing, albeit slowly. The shelving has been assembled and now the fun bit starts - putting the books on the shelves in order! (I know, not everyone agrees with my idea of fun!) I still don't have a desktop computer or phone so that is why I've been a bit sluggish in my postings. Hopefully that will be fixed Tues or Wed and then I can get into the habit of regular posting again. Thanks for sticking with me through this long process. I've made some good progress on Have Faith. It is almost finished now...
Yay for long weekends! I've done quite a bit of stitching since this photo was taken last night, but thought I'd better post something or you might forget about me.

Today, I made banana and choc chip cookies and orange & poppyseed mini muffins - yummo.

Have Faith #3

I've made a little more progress on Have Faith over the last few nights. I'm not stitching for as long as I usually would due to being so sore and tired from my library relocation. I'm about one-third of the way through re-assembling my shelving so still a fair bit to get done. Boy, will I be glad when it is done. I'm kind of over it now; however, I am looking forward to putting the books on the shelves when they have finally been assembled and cleaned. I love putting things in order and what needs more order than a library? Still no computer or phone, so it's lucky I've got the shelving to keep me busy!

Have Faith #2

A few more leaves and little flowers got done last night. Progress may look quick but it certainly feels slow as I'm only stitching for a small amount of time each night due to feeling so sore! Today I made some good progress as far as the library set up is going, don't know how I'll go tonight with stitching progress... I think I had a snooze in the bath this afternoon when I got home. Finished my bottle of Radox so I need to get some more at the shops tomorrow.

Have Hope - Finished & Have Faith - Started

Over the last week I have managed to get 'Have Hope' finished. I am really pleased with the end result...
Now I've started on the next one in the series, 'Have Faith'. I've done the bird and have the border flowers and wording to go...

The library move is progressing well. All the packing got done last week, and the truck is coming tomorrow to concentrate on the library - furniture, shelving and just under 1,000 boxes of books! I think tomorrow will be a long day and I doubt I'll get any stitching done... I'm starting work at 7.30am and will be there until the last truck load is delivered to the new location - who knows when that might be! Good news is we have a second truck and 3 extra guys to get it done so I have some hope it will be completed tomorrow. Then the fun begins putting all the shelving back together and getting the books back on the shelves - in order.
