Robot ABC #11 & Finish

We had a very nice time at Aireys Inlet (seaside Victorian town on the Great Ocean Road) over the weekend. Didn't do a great deal at all which was just what I needed. I made a start on the V of the Robot ABC but didn't get to finishing the back-stitching...

 

Then, when we got home, I stitched the name and birth date of my friend's baby onto the Walk This Way Pooh Bear design I did for her. I hope to get some time to take it to the framers this Friday.

So, it was a pretty slow stitching weekend, but you need one of those every now and then. I've decided I'm not going to do all the Christmas ornaments and I'm going to start something else tonight and just do the ornaments in-between other projects. There was nothing in the latest Fox Collection catalogue that screamed BUY ME NOW, so I'll just have to pick something else out of the stash in the back room. I think you'll like the one I'm pretty sure to select...

Walk This Way #20 & Sing to the Lord #16 & Be Strong #1

 

Yay - it's finished all but for the baby name and birthdate, but that will have to wait as I don't think he/she is due until April. Funny how with many kits you end up running out of threads - I didn't have this problem with this design - I've got so much thread left I reckon I could almost do the whole design again!

After finishing Walk This Way, I decided to go back and finish off the Sing to the Lord - one that I ran out of thread for the back-stitching. So now that is finished too...

And then I started the final Heartfelt design that I'm aware of for the set of 8... Be Strong

So it's been a fairly productive weekend... I hope yours has been a good one too!

Tigger has a head! Now for the back-stitching and I'll be done until baby arrives next year and I can add a name and date. I have enjoyed stitching this design, and it's been quite quick so that's always good.

Now Tigger just needs a head and some back-stitching! I'll have to start thinking about what to do next soon...
I made some white chocolate fudge last night after dinner. Haven't tried it yet but it looks and smells delicious.

Walk This Way #16

I got a bit more done than I thought I would last night. And that's after visiting my friend in hospital, making banana muffins, and putting up and decorating the Christmas tree! I'm quite impressed with my efforts last night. My husband is away for work this week, so when he's not around, I get a lot more done - funny that! I'm thinking I may even have this done by the weekend... we'll see.
And I know it's early for the Christmas tree, but I was watching TV and there were a few stories about Christmas, so I thought 'why not?' We don't have a real Christmas tree, but I like all the decorations I've made in recent years so it looks OK...

 

Now I just need some presents!

Tigger's not far off being done now...Very pleased with my progress last night.

Tonight I might not get so much done as I'm going to be visiting my friend Judith, who is in hospital recovering from a major operation. I'm looking forward to catching up with her for a bit.

Above is Clarence looking through the gate he pushed over to get out during the thunder storm - completely oblivious to the stress he caused! We'll do everything we can to stop that ever happening again. Clarence sent a lovely bunch of flowers to the lady who rescued him - at least he has some manners!

Tigger is on the way...

 

Now that I've started Tigger, I don't want to stop, but I'll have to as we're going to Aireys Inlet for the weekend tonight and that means more Elephant ABC. I've purchased all the threads I ran out of last time so I should be able to finish off at least 4-5 letters and get started on some more. I am looking forward to getting down there away from it all again - it is so relaxing to be able to have these little breaks.

Log back-stitching is all done... now for Tigger.
And still more stocktaking at work - the whole process usually takes me about 2 weeks but I've been delayed this week with lots of meetings and other stuff so I'm a bit behind where I'd like to be...

The log is not far off being finished now... even without the back-stitching, you can see the variations in it.
At work, it is time for our annual library stocktake - my FAVOURITE thing of all my jobs to do! Seriously, people look at me funny when I tell them that, but I really do love scanning everything, finding out what's missing, finding stuff in the wrong place, and tidying the shelves to make them look neat. Only downside is that it only lasts until someone visits the library and touches something - which usually isn't very long after I'm done.

I'm very pleased with my weekend's progress...

 

No too much more for the log to be completed. I'm dying to start Tigger, but I won't look forward to finishing the log later, so I'm making myself finish it before I start Tigger.
My husband had dental issues on Friday with a tooth snapping off after biting a bone so we were late home after getting it looked at and fixed up. The rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful but did include plenty of sleep - I think the week really catches up with me because I always seem to be so tired on the weekends.

I made some progress on the log last night... it's all one colour but the effect is good. Now I just have to work my way through filling in the spaces.

Started on the log last night.Super pleased with my progress - I think I might even have it done by Christmas which would be good.
At one stage, I lost control of my needle and flicked it across the room - luckily, after a while crawling around on the floor, I found it.

Pooh is done! Just Pooh, not the whole design.

I am very pleased with my weekend's progress. Saturday was quite hot so we just stayed inside all day and stitched - well, I did, my husband didn't. I watched 2 movies while stitching - Noah with Russell Crowe (my overall opinion is that it was just a bit weird) and The Railway Man (a very moving story on the power of forgiveness).

I hope you're weekends were productive too!

Last night we had the vet appointment which was delayed because they were so busy, so it was bedtime before I knew it... Therefore, I didn't get as much done as I thought I would, but I am still happy with my progress...

Walk This Way #1

Well, of course the weather today was amazing, but we decided to come home anyway as we have lots of jobs to do around the house. All the exciting stuff like mowing, weeding, washing etc! It was lovely walking on the beach this morning with Clarence before we packed up for the 2 hour drive home.

After we'd unpacked and done the shopping, I went to the craft store to get some more threads. When I got home, I realised I forgot to get the dark grey for Sing to the Lord... maybe I'll go back again tomorrow...

Last night, I was flicking through the completed project pages on this blog. I realised that the Winnie the Pooh design I was planning to do for my friends baby is actually fairly similar (them all sitting together) but also quite different (background & foreground details) to the one I did for her first child in 2010. This is what I was going to do:

It's called "In the Meadow". When I was going through my threads before we left, I realised the pattern was in Anchor threads so I had to get a conversion to DMC chart. So, as I was going through my thread stash for the colours, I found another Winnie the Pooh design that I had forgotten I even had. It is from the same series as the original design I did for the first child, so I thought it would be better to do that in this case. Therefore, the Winnie the Pooh design I have started tonight is: Walk This Way

I love the bright colours in these designs.

We've got another day off tomorrow thanks to the Melbourne Cup (who can argue about having a public holiday for a horse race!) More house stuff to get done but I hope to get a lot more stitching done too.
