Stitching ABC #41 and FINALLY...!

Last night I did the back-stitching on the O block and finished it off.

And I FINALLY got permission to hang my Heartfelt pictures that I purchased and stitched specifically for my library. Originally, I had proposed to hang them above the computers and the study desks across 3 separate areas, but I only got permission to hang them in a cluster, and I actually think that is much better! They are on the ground floor and EVERYONE will see them every time they walk into the library so they are much more on display than I had originally planned. YAY! Besides the ugly fire hydrant next to them, I think they look great and I am very pleased with them. It's only taken about a year to finally get them into place... but I think it was worth the wait!

And YAY, it's Friday. I'm going to the movies tonight with my friend to see 'Self/less'. I'm not sure what it is about but it looks like a bit of a suspense movie so it should be OK. I'd like to go and see Mission Impossible after it is released next week too.
For the weekend, I think my sister and her family are coming over for dinner and to watch the footy on Foxtel on Saturday night, and on Sunday, we have the footy ourselves - hopefully it will remain dry!

Be Strong #8 - Finished!

Ta da - one finished Be Strong design.
 Without beads...
With beads...

I'm surprised at how quickly this ended up finishing but I am glad the whole set is now done. I'll have to check when I can get to the framers, maybe before Christmas, but probably in January. And hopefully by then I'll have permission to hang them in my theological library - yes, I'm still waiting for the OK to do that and it's driving me crazy.

So tonight I will be going through my stash to find what's next. I think I know what I'll start next, but I have to see what else is there before I'm sure. Until next time...

Be Strong #7

Well, the movie was a bit of a let down... but catching up with my friend made up for it. 'My Old Lady' has Maggie Smith and Kevin Kline in it, so good people, but I just found the story to move so slowly and there just didn't seem to be any real point to it. I'd say, save it for DVD if you have another choice... On Saturday I had morning tea with another friend who is recovering from major surgery - great to see her progressing so well.

And I made lots of stitching progress over the weekend - the finish is not far away!
It was pretty wet over the weekend, so perfect for stitching! I hope you all got lots of stitching time in too...

Be Strong #6

Slowly, slowly... progress is being made.
I'm off to the movies tonight to see 'My Old Lady' which looks like a bit of fun.

Until next time,

The bottom of this is now pretty much done. Now I will work my way upwards... Not much more to say... Have a great day!

Be Strong #4

Progress is coming along nicely with this design.
More planning for our trip to New York next year is continuing. We are SO EXCITED we just can't wait. Has anyone had any experience with a thing called the New York Pass? It's a card you buy that gives you 'free' access without the queues into over 80 attractions. We want to do all the touristy things so we think it might be worth it...? Ooohh, only 9.5 months to go!

Be Strong #3

I have to admit, I've cheated a bit - I didn't do all this last night. I did a bit of it after I took my last photo the night before. But it is coming along well and is quite pretty.

Be Strong #2

Got a lot of stitching time in yesterday as it was 35 degrees and too hot for anything else!
Tonight I have a library meeting in the city so I won't be home until late - might not get too much done tonight...

Walk This Way #20 & Sing to the Lord #16 & Be Strong #1

Yay - it's finished all but for the baby name and birthdate, but that will have to wait as I don't think he/she is due until April. Funny how with many kits you end up running out of threads - I didn't have this problem with this design - I've got so much thread left I reckon I could almost do the whole design again!

After finishing Walk This Way, I decided to go back and finish off the Sing to the Lord - one that I ran out of thread for the back-stitching. So now that is finished too...
And then I started the final Heartfelt design that I'm aware of for the set of 8... Be Strong
So it's been a fairly productive weekend... I hope yours has been a good one too!
