Jingle Bells #6 & New Stash

Finished off the second ornament last night and I really like the bright blue background.
I also got a delivery of some new items from my recent order:
Some new small Christmas tree ornaments and a Heartfelt set which I think I will stitch for my new library. That's right - our library is moving locations to a new address early next year and I think these will look great.

Paris Market #53 & New Stash

Well, I had a training seminar on Friday and then it was the V8 Supercars at Sandown (our local track) all weekend so we were busy but I did get some good stitching done.

There are a few larger blocks of colour along the bottom so it hopefully won't take too long to fill in the flower pots and start to make my way up the side.

I also received delivery of my latest order from The Fox Collection catalogue -  2 kits: Design Works 'Stitching A-Z' and Artecy 'Midnight Rendevous' (apologies for the blurry pictures!) As you know, I've got a 'thing' for ABC designs so this stitching one was a must, and the restaurant scene will match in nicely with both Paris Market and European Bistro which I intend to get framed so they match. It has over 70 colours, and almost 370metres of thread! I don't think I've had a kit before that tells you how much thread is used by measuring it in this way - interesting!

Paris Market #49

I did manage to get a few more leaves done last night which is good...

This is quite an intricate design and probably not for beginners, but it is rewarding to see it coming together bit by bit. It will look great when I get it framed to match with my last big project (European Bistro)... and in my latest catalogue from The Fox Collection, I ordered another design (Midnight Rendezvous) that is similar as well. I could have a trio on the wall...
Well, my husband got back from Perth at 6am this morning after a 27 hour day so we will make our way to Aireys Inlet this afternoon for a couple of quiet days stitching on The Triplets ABC and walking on the beach. Have a great weekend everyone!

Paris Market #42 & New Stash

Wouldn't you know it! The moment you complain to someone about things not turning up, they turn up. After I'd been told I would get a refund, I got home and guess what was in the letterbox - my Christmas Ornaments! Now I've cancelled the refund and got my ornaments so I am quite happy. I'll just have to remember that anything coming from the US takes 7-8 weeks, not 4-6 weeks, and to remain patient!
These Jingle Bell Ornaments from Dimensions are done on plastic canvas again so I am looking forward to getting them done once Paris Market is finished off.

Did a bit more of the next shop front along last night.

Paris Market #41

Finished off the next building along last night. These last two buildings have been quick as they are not full of stitches, there are quite a few spaces without any stitching (although it is a bit hard to see in the picture).

Some fun arrived in the post last night too - for my birthday a little while ago, I took out a subscription to Cross-Stitch and Needlework Magazine and last night the first issue arrived - happy birthday to me!

We're not big on Halloween in Australia, but there are a few nice Christmas ornaments I might get around to doing one day. I also found out the latest set of Christmas plastic canvas ornaments I ordered has been lost in the post so at least I can get a refund of the cost. Pity, I was looking forward to doing some more plastic canvas ornaments - I really enjoyed the last lot I did. Maybe they'll still turn up... one day.

More Stash!

Last night we had a late launch event for work, so by the time I got home, I was just too tired to stitch - I was really stuffed! So instead, I looked over some new stash that arrived yesterday.
This Design Works kit is called 'O Holy Night' and will match 2 others I've already done (23rd Psalm - 2011 and Inspirational ABC - 2008). The flash makes it a bit hard to see, but it has beautiful bright colours, and even some beads and metallic stars to stitch on as well.
The other item that arrived is a book of ABC designs targeted to kids. I love ABC designs so this should get quite a workout! It has alphabets of bunnies, dinosaurs, dancers, teddy bears, space stuff and a few others as well.

New Stash

So here are my newly arrived Cross-Stitch & Needlework magazines. I've got the March, July, September & November 2010 issues and the January, May, July & September 2011 issues. There is pretty much at least one project in every magazine that I'd like to stitch so they were worth the wait and the huge expense - only $1 each!!

I didn't get any stitching done last night - I was still so tired from the conference last week. Instead, I spent my evening flicking through these new magazines. I promise to get out Paris Market tonight and resume stitching.

Dinosaur ABC #4

Phew, I'm exhausted from a great few days at the conference in Adelaide - sorry it's been a while since I've posted. I have heaps of stuff to come back and work my way through which means it was a very worthwhile time. It sure is nice to be home.

On the stitching front, I have to admit, not a lot got done... Only part of one more letter - N
This will now go into hiding for a while, either until I go away somewhere else, or finish the Triplets ABC at our holiday house and this will become my new holiday house project.

Also, just received a parcel from Herrschners with some back issues of magazines I bought for something crazy like 50c each! I'll go through them tonight when I get home and post some pics tomorrow.

Stitching & Stash Update

No pictures today as I forgot my camera, but you'll just have to believe me that I did get some of the next building done on Paris Market! And since I'll be in Adelaide for the next few days at a conference, I probably won't be posting until I return...
On another note, Herrschners are having a 40% off one item sale for 4th July - 3 days only. I've ordered something for my stash which I'll share when it arrives. The great thing about such a big discount, is even with postage to Australia, the item came out cheaper than it originally was - bonus!

Joy Ornaments #2 and Give Us Lord #19 - finished!

I finally made it to the shops and got some more blue for the writing in Give Us Lord - it is now finished and ready to be taken to the framers after I give it a wash and iron. I am very pleased with the result and can't wait to get it onto my wall in my theological library...

I also finished the J of JOY in the Christmas ornaments and got a good start on the O...
And, while I was at the shop buying the blue threads, there was a discount bin with the following in it that I couldn't go past... only $1 each - you can never have too much stash!

Give Us Lord #17 & New Stash!

This has been a pretty quick design to get through, which is great. Now I've just got the wording in the middle and I'll be finished.

Yesterday, my latest order from The Fox Collection arrived. New stash - woo hoo!

There's a Baby ABC kit from Design Works - not sure why I got this as I don't know anyone having a baby, but I love the colours and the ABCs - I have a real thing for ABC designs, I've done quite a few of them.

The other is another Christmas kit - 9 Joy Ornaments from Dimensions. These are stitched on plastic canvas which I've never used before so it should be fun to try. I thought since I recently finished my mini Christmas Stockings, I'd do some more ornaments to fill my new bigger tree later in the year.

Christmas Stockings #22 & New Stash

Only 1 more to go now... the end of the Christmas Stocking ornaments is in sight!

And yesterday, some newly ordered kits arrived to line up in my stash for stitching...

I really love the colors in the family tree. Don't know anyone having a baby soon either, but that doesn't mean I can't stitch it and have it ready...
