Paris Market & Little Owls Movies

So, I didn't get to them last weekend like I had hoped, but I did do them last night - made little movies of these two recent cross stitch projects.

They're basic and simple, but I am very proud of them and think they're quite cute. I hope you enjoy them too...

Now you can see why I've been taking the photos like I have been for the Jingle Bells kit. Hopefully the movie of that project won't be quite so bumpy...

Little Owls Tree - finished!

Well, it's done! I am so pleased with the final result. I'm still not sure what I'll do with it - keep it to turn into a baby announcement or frame it as is. I like this so much I'm inclined to not want to give it away! Plus it was so quick to do, I could always stitch it again if I needed to...

Little Owls Tree #7

This weekend, we got word at the last minute, that my husband needed to go away for the weekend with a new model car - he works for a premium performance car manufacturer and when a new model is released, before it is given to journalists to write reviews, it needs approx 1,500kms put on it to make sure there are no rattles and that everything is working as it should. My husband is the lucky one who gets to do this most of the time - and I get to tag along. It means driving all day, staying somewhere, and then driving all day home again - but we both love it... so that's what we did this weekend. We ended up in Wagga Wagga  NSW (approx 600kms from Melbourne, VIC).

Of course, I took my Little Owls Tree and got quite a bit done. Then when we got home yesterday I continued, and finished off the tree!

The tree is now finished, except for some back-stitching on the trunk. Then there is just the row of flowers across the bottom and I'm done. Woo hoo! I really love this design, the owls are just so cute...

Time to think about what's next again...

Little Owls Tree #6

Made more good progress made last night...
I'm looking forward to a good weekend of stitching - it is supposed to be cold and wet so that says 'stitch all day' to me!

Little Owls Tree #4

Another owl added to the tree last night - they are just too cute. I'm trying to work out where I'll put this one once I'm done. I still think it would look nice with baby details as a birth notice so I might keep it for that (but if you've been watching my purchases lately, you'll remember I've bought 2 other birth notices as well... and since I don't know anyone having a baby, or planning to, I could be holding on to them for quite a while!) I might just frame it and hang it in one of our spare rooms for when my nieces and nephews come over, but that isn't all that often so it wouldn't get seen much... I'll just have to keep thinking about it.

Little Owls Tree #3

Here is last night's progress on Little Owls Tree...
Yesterday was a good day at work - I was recognized for 10 years service with a plaque and gift voucher. Unfortunately, I can't use the voucher for cross-stitch, but I'm sure to find something nice for myself. How time flies...

The Triplets #7 & Little Owls Tree #2

A lovely weekend of stitching down at Aireys Inlet with a couple of long walks with Clarence (our Golden Retriever) on the beach. Here is my progress on the Triplets alphabet...
Then, once we got home, I did some more on the Little Owls Tree - I just love the colours in this design. And being all full stitches with only a little back-stitching, it is quite quick to get through...

Little Owls Tree #1

So my next project is the recently received Little Owls Tree kit by Vervaco. The little owls are just so cute. And given the amount I got done last night, this project shouldn't take too long to get through.
Off again to Aireys Inlet tonight so I'll be back to the Triplet ABC for a couple of days. I'll have to start thinking about what I can leave down there as I'm not too far off finishing that one as well...
