Santa's Journey #18

The presents on the sleigh are looking good. I am very pleased with my progress on this stocking - it seems to be going much quicker than others have in the past.

Also last night, I made some Star Wars themed gingerbread men which turned out pretty good. I got the idea from another blog. Mine don't quite look the same, but I didn't have any white so I made do with a chocolate sash and black writing-icing for the bullets and face features. I think if you're into Star Wars, you'll know what they are supposed to be, if not, they're just funny looking gingerbread men with sashes!

Elephant ABC #15

OMG - my husband made bacon jam and it is our new favourite thing! It is amazing. It goes perfectly with corn fritters, and with some sour cream, looks just like jam and cream on pancakes. He got the recipe from a Matt Preston cookbook and it is just amazing - if you haven't tried it before, I can highly recommend it.

We are back home again now so I'll be back to the Enchanted Ornament stocking soon, but yesterday, I did the B and J on the Elephant ABC. Only C, D and E to go now!

It's a pity I couldn't get this finished this time, but it should only take me 2-3 days to get it done so I need to think about what I can take down for my next holiday project.

Book Review: Eden / Candice Fox - I almost didn't bother to finish this one. There's dog fighting (which puts me off straight away, even though it's only for 1 little bit) and the 'good' guys who kill 'bad' guys like serial killers - not my idea of fun. I got through it but did skip quite a bit.

Enchanted Ornament #5 & Recipe

I've almost completed enough to be able to do the back-stitching on the berries now.

Click HERE for the recipe for the chocolate crackle reindeers that is basically what I tried to make on the weekend. The main difference is I used mini-marshmallows cut in half with a dot of black writing icing for the eyes and a bit of pretzel for the antlers. Waiting for the holding chocolate to set and then removing your fingers without the bit you're sticking coming with them is the hardest part!
