So I've done as much as I can without getting more threads from the shop. Hopefully, I can get there on the weekend. Now I'll have to find something else to start tonight... Yay!

Almost done, but wouldn't you know it - I've run out of 2 colours I need to finish so I'll have to go to the store to pick some up. I'm surprised I didn't run out sooner as all the threads I used came from my stash. I really like this design - it is so cute. My favourite part, besides the houses themselves, are the waves - I think they're really effective. Will look great in a crisp white frame.

Very happy with my progress over the weekend on this design. I've just got one more skinny house, some sky, some wording under the waves and a couples of rows under that and I'm done. A very quick, but effective design. Only issue is the pattern has a number of blue blocks representing the colours and it is quite difficult to tell a few of them apart. My only adjustment to the design is to include the white (actually it's ivory) in the stitching. The original is stitched on white cloth so you probably wouldn't need to stitch it in, but since I've stitched it on sand canvas, I think it needs to be defined.

I also picked up some frames for the latest Mill Hill designs that I purchased when I was away on our trip earlier in the year. I have framed and set up the Snowy Owl next to the Covered Bridge one. I have a polar bear one to do at some stage but I've got the frame for it, so when I do get around to doing it, I can finish it completely.

Finished the first house and almost finished the second as well. It is so quick to do because there is no back-stitching or half stitches.  And the blues and reds are so pretty - very happy with this design!
I'm off to the movies tonight to see 'Inferno' so that will hopefully be good. And I hope to get heaps of stitching time again this weekend... hope you all have a productive weekend too.

By the Sea #1

The night before last I spent folding origami Christmas trees from the pages of an old, browned book. I will attach them to string and use them to decorate around the office for Christmas.

My new project is from a book called Sand, Sea and Cross Stitch by Anna Field. I found some sand coloured canvas in my stash and decided to do a row of beach-side houses on it. It is only 10 count so the design will be much bigger than the original, but that is OK. I want to stitch several of the patterns in the book for our beach holiday house - they will fit in perfectly.

I got most of the first house done, using 3 strands of thread to fill in the bigger than usual holes.
