Christmas Sled Stocking #7

Well, I had a big week up in Queensland performing the annual library stock-take, and although I took my stitching with me, I didn't get any done. The lighting in the motel was terrible, and I was too tired anyway at the end of the day - I didn't want to make a mistake to then just have to pull it out again.

Christmas Sled Stocking #5

A little progress last night. Won't get anymore done for a while as I'm going to the movies tonight and we have the footy tomorrow night. Also have to pack for QLD as it's Library stock-take time again - woo hoo!! I'll be away all next week but I'll have my stocking with me to do during the evenings. We'll also be staying with my sister and her family next weekend so we are both looking forward to catching up with them then (my husband is coming up just for the weekend!)

Bear Ornament #1

I was going to finish the lighthouse last night but I couldn't find my graph paper to plot the words so I'll do that tonight. Instead, I started on a bear ornament that was a free gift with my latest order - that's right, I've ordered and received something great but you'll have to wait and see what it is...

It is stitched on plastic canvas and will be cut out when done.

Yesterday, I started my annual library stock-take - my favourite work thing to do! I tried to get all my other little jobs out of the way first, and by the time I did, it was way after lunch so I didn't get as much done as I was hoping, but today, it's stock-take all day, except for a meeting in the afternoon. Yippee!

Candy Cane Santa Stocking #9

The top of the stocking is now done. Only needs a name and some cream fill-in. Now I'm on to the right side window.
This week I'm in Perth (on the west coast of Australia) for a library stock-take! I love doing stock-takes! I've got the stocking with me so hopefully I can get some more done, but the lighting in my motel room is terrible and I'll have to sit in the kitchen to have any decent light. Could be interesting!

Life is About #11

I haven't done any stitching for the last 4 days as I've been having too much fun with my nieces and nephew in Queensland. It was great to catch up with them, and I even made it in time on Friday night to participate in my niece's 9th birthday party which had a Star Wars theme. It was heaps of fun. This is where I got up to during my time on the Gold Coast for our library stock-take.

Very happy with my progress from last night.
Hopefully our stock-taking issues have been resolved and I can run reports tomorrow. Apparently it didn't go below 30C in Melbourne last night, so I'm glad I'm on the gold Coast!

Life is About #8

I had a wonderful facial last night which made my skin feel amazing. When I got home, I started on the border...

Next week, I will be on the Gold Coast doing the library stock-take for our QLD campus library. I love my stock-take so I'm really looking forward to it. I will take some stitching with me so I have something to do in the evenings. Then, next weekend, I'll be visiting my sister & her family who live in Warwick (about 3hrs inland from the Gold Coast) and spending some time with them. Hopefully, it's not too hot - at least they have a pool if it is.

Update

Well, I don't have any stitching to update about - it hasn't left my bag! I have been so tired. It's been a big weekend and a big week with early starts each day.

The weekend was great fun catching up with my sister and her family. Her 2 girls (8 & 6 yrs old) and son (3 yrs old) are all great and we had a great time. We saw the movie 'Minions' and the girls liked it. I thought it was OK but I found that the minions mumble a lot and when they don't speak actual words it is sometimes hard to follow what they're trying to say... We also played a little tennis, which I can still feel in my muscles 2 days later! It was also nice to catch up with my sister over a couple of kid-less morning teas out in town.

The stock-take of my QLD library has gone extremely well and we are all done in just 1.5 days. No big problems like last year - this year has been very smooth and now we have a day of free time! Not sure what we might do tomorrow to fill in before my flight home. Maybe I'll get the stitching out tonight so I can say at least I did some of it...

Stitching ABC #28

I finished off the back-stitching on the V block last night - V is for Venice lace. So that's one third done - yay for me.

I'm quite excited about the weekend ahead - Today I'm flying to the Gold Coast, in Queensland, and then driving 3 hrs to visit my sister and her family over the weekend. I'm hoping to take my 2 nieces to see the new 'Minions' movie which looks like lots of fun. Then on Monday morning, I'll be back at the Gold Coast at our campus library there to do the annual library stocktake! Woo hoo, as you know, library stocktake is my favourite work thing to do! I'll be home again Wednesday night so there might not be as much posting as usual. I've got the Robot ABC packed with me so I hope to get some more done over the next few nights.

Enchanted Ornament Stocking #3

Here's a close up of the first finished ball on the Enchanted Ornament Stocking.

An update on my recent library stocktake - it was very good. We've grown the collection by 9.6% and are only missing 0.5% which is pretty good. And as I predicted, it took a whole 5 minutes for someone to come in, look for something and stuff up the nicely arranged shelves where everything was all lined up neatly - arrgghhh!!

We had a busy weekend with my husband's work Christmas party on Saturday and then a catch-up with his sister's family on Sunday. Only one more week of work to go - I am so looking forward to the holidays this year...

The log is done - all but for the back-stitching. Once I get that done, I can start on Tigger.

Walk This Way #10

The log is not far off being finished now... even without the back-stitching, you can see the variations in it.
At work, it is time for our annual library stocktake - my FAVOURITE thing of all my jobs to do! Seriously, people look at me funny when I tell them that, but I really do love scanning everything, finding out what's missing, finding stuff in the wrong place, and tidying the shelves to make them look neat. Only downside is that it only lasts until someone visits the library and touches something - which usually isn't very long after I'm done.
