Jingle Bells - Finished!

I finished off the stitching, went to the craft store for some supplies and sat down to try and make the images in my head come to life... I had a small disaster but also some success, so overall I am pleased with how they have turned out...
The Santa turned out pretty good - I am quite pleased with it. I stuck some thick cardboard on the back and the some white ribbon tubing around the edge. I think this is the one I like the best.
This Peace ornament turned out OK but unfortunately, as I was cutting the plastic, the clipper things I was using pulled the plastic which meant some of the black back-stitching around the edge came out. I think I've covered it up OK, but I'm not happy with how I joined the ends of the white ribbon tubing together in the corner.
I worked out how to finish off the edges neatly by the time I go to this ornament. It was a bit trickier though as it had no straight edges for the ribbon tubing to stick to. This is my second favourite one.
When I got to the Christmas tree, I decided that sticking the ribbon tubing to the edges was just going to take too long and be too fiddly, so I just left it with the cardboard on the back and no edging. For the candy cane, I didn't even put cardboard on the back. I don't think I made a deliberate decision not to, it just didn't seem to need it. And if I make sure it hangs on the tree properly, you won't see the back anyway...

So then I decided I needed to put the tree up so I could see what they looked like in position. Now, I know you're not supposed to put the Christmas tree up until December, but this was for display purposes only... and then I thought there's no point taking it down and putting it up again next week, so I got out the rest of my ornaments that I've stitched this year and put them up too. I think we need another new tree!

Here are all my mini stockings and Joy Ornaments from earlier in the year.

So, here is my decorated Christmas Tree. I am super pleased with it. I've still got a kit of more mini stockings in the cupboard so I might have to give those away as gifts when I get around to stitching them... or buy a bigger tree!
When I get a break I'll post an update about my next project...

Jingle Bells #12

Almost done now... Just some back-stitching to make the Santa come alive and then I can put them together. I have to go to the craft store this afternoon to get some bits and pieces and then I'll see if I can get what is in my head for finishing them off out into reality. Should be interesting - but could be disastrous!

Also this afternoon I'm picking up my newly framed European Bistro and Paris Market designs. Can't wait to show you all a pic next week. I'm very excited to see how they have turned out.

And while I'm here, I just want to say 'Thank You' to all those who follow what I stitch and leave lovely comments. I appreciate them all. It still freaks me out to think there are other people all over the world interested enough in what I am doing to follow me - thank you!

Have an awesome weekend everyone...

Jingle Bells #10

Another ornament done, one more to go...
Actually, now that I look at it, I remember that I said to myself while I was doing the back-stitch that I mustn't forget the text on the gift tag - and I did, so I haven't quite finished the candy cane...
It's almost time to start thinking about the next project - woo hoo!!

Jingle Bells #9

Almost got the 4th ornament done last night. A little more candy in the cane and of course the back-stitching to go. Should finish it up tonight and then only one more to go... I love how quickly these are getting done. I've got a few ideas about how to finish them off. I think I will do it differently to how I did the last lot of plastic canvas ornaments from earlier in the year... stay tuned to see how they will turn out.

Jingle Bells #8 & The Triplets #14

Well, I didn't quite get The Triplets finished, but I reckon I can before Christmas - we go back to Aireys inlet once before then and I think (hope) that I only need one more weekend to finish it off...
Only one more of the 13 triplets (??) to be done now.

And when we got home, I finished off the third ornament from the Jingle Bells kit.
Again, I love the bright colours in this kit.

Jingle Bells #8

I'm pleased with my progress last night on the third ornament - the outline of the tree was only 2 colours so it was quick to get through...
Tonight, we're heading back to Aireys Inlet for the weekend so more progress will be made on The Triplets. Have a great weekend everyone!

Jingle Bells #5

Last night, I thought I'd finish with the back-stitching still to be done, so I took this photo:
Then I sat down and thought "It's not really bedtime yet, I can stitch some more", so I started the back-stitching:

Jingle Bells #4

I have made great progress on the Jingle Bells ornaments over the weekend...

The first one is supposed to have some french knots around the love heart, but I think I might do them in little beads instead... I'll make up my mind before I finish them off.

Jingle Bells #3

Almost finished the first ornament now...
And the reason I'm showing pictures of the whole plastic canvas rather than a close up of each ornament is so when I finish I can make my little movie showing the progress and all the pictures will be the same size... You'll see what I mean when I get it done. Which reminds me, I need to do one for the Paris Market - I started when I had my computer class several weeks ago, but I need to finish it off and post it - maybe I'll get to that this weekend.

Jingle Bells #2

Got the border part of the first ornament finished last night. I quite like the colours in this design, even though they are not the traditional Christmas colours. I know I've said it before, but I am really enjoying stitching on the plastic canvas.

The Triplets #13 & New Start

Here is where I got up to by Monday night on The Triplets:
Maybe another couple of nights will get it done. We go back to Aireys in 2 weeks so maybe I'll finish it then...

So when we got home on Tuesday, my dilemma was what to start next... Opening the cupboard, this was on top, and Christmas is nearly here, and the last plastic canvas was so quick to do, so this is my new project:

By the end of day 1 - I've done quite a bit with the first ornament. It is so quick to stitch on the plastic canvas. My tree this year is going to look amazing.
