Stitching ABC #22 & Tram Car Restaurant

Friday night, we had our dinner on the Tram Car Restaurant. We allowed 1.5 hours for the trip into the city (usually a 30-40 minutes trip) as you have to be there by 5.30pm for a 5.45pm departure for the early sitting. Well, we forgot about it being a long weekend and there was SO MUCH traffic - we made it with 2 minutes to spare (5.43pm) and a $50 parking fee (I had booked another car spot for $5 but we wouldn't have made it so we pulled in to park at the Casino and their flat rate for Friday & Saturday nights is $50!) Needless to say, we were very stressed and puffed after running a block to catch the tram - they don't wait for latecomers as the line is used by regular trams as well so they can't delay. The party of 4 next to us had 2 people missing, and unfortunately for them, one of the missing people was the birthday person! We were very relieved to have made it but it wasn't a great start to the evening. We had 2 nice dips and crackers for starters and then a choice of chicken or steak for dinner. I went with the chicken and it was very nice. Dessert was very good - we got both a small sticky date pudding and a panna cotta - both delicious. When we got back, we had a leisurely stroll back to the Casino and tried to work out where we had parked - we didn't take much notice in the rush to make it on time. So despite the hectic start, it was an enjoyable evening.

Over the weekend, I did a fair amount of stitching which is pleasing in between walking the dog in the lovely sunshine and other regular household duties.
Happy Stitching,
Kerrie
